Impact

EACTI aims to transform lives in rural Bangladesh by empowering underprivileged individuals through skill-based training, fostering economic independence, dignity, and a brighter future for marginalized communities.

Access to education and skill training

EACTI’s low-cost training programs in a rural setting ensure that education and skill development are within reach for those with limited financial means. This accessibility breaks down barriers to entry and allows individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue opportunities for personal and professional growth that may have been otherwise unattainable.

Women empowerment

EACTI initiated a sustainable income generation project called “Shomriddhi,” which translates to “Progress” in Bengali, to empower rural women to attain sustainable livelihoods. Under this program, EACTI partnered with PRAN-RFL Group, one of the largest conglomerates of Bangladesh whereby the company outsources different types of bags produced by the trained women at EACTI’s premise. This enables these resilient women to support their families, continue their education and help uplift their rural communities.

Entrepreneurship/ Self-employment

In collaboration with Unilever Bangladesh, EACTI provided a complimentary course titled “Entrepreneurship & Sales Skills,” aimed at equipping unemployed youth, especially women in rural areas, with the knowledge to seize livelihood opportunities. In addition, EACTI organizes motivational sessions for the learners to instill a sense of agency and self-reliance, empowering individuals to shape their own destinies.

Social Integration

Through partnership with Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives, EACTI facilitates enrollment of students from various regions of Bangladesh into its diverse courses. This initiative not only broadens students’ networks, allowing them to connect with peers, instructors, and industry experts, but also promotes social integration. By supporting the individuals to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and collaborate, EACTI cultivates an environment for collective prosperity within their communities.

Community Engagement

EACTI is committed to enhancing social awareness through regular counseling sessions at different neighborhoods and educational institutes focused on skill development. By empowering students for employment or entrepreneurship, the institute offers a tangible path out of poverty. During times of pandemic and natural disaster, EACTI plays a vital role in serving the community. In the wake of last major flood, the campus served as a temporary shelter for flood victims, demonstrating the institute’s commitment to support the needy.

Climate Change Response

Sylhet, the wettest region in Bangladesh, faces significant climate change impacts: increased flooding, erratic rainfall, and landslide risks, disrupting agriculture, infrastructure, and biodiversity. Floods threaten human safety, causing waterborne disease outbreaks and economic hardships. Addressing these challenges requires improved flood management, sustainable agriculture, and resilience-building efforts. EACTI supports communities by offering its campus as a flood shelter. At the same time, the EACF Foundation donates to flood victims and provides free skill-based training to help young people become self-reliant.
