Job Context


E. A Choudhury Technical Institute (EACTI) is a not-for-profit modern and state-of-the-art Technical and Vocational Institute at Dakkhin Surma, Sylhet (14 km from Sylhet City towards Fenchuganj) to craft an education system, which would be more suitable for the 21st century. The institute is located at 6.5 Bigha land at Daudpur, Dakkhin Surma, Sylhet with a constructed building area of 40,145 sq. ft. including an administrative building, academic building, and modern workshop. This vocational training institute is approved by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). The institute has partnered with large companies in different industries in Bangladesh and offers job placements for students, poor, and unemployed persons.

We intend to spread technical education on a non-commercial basis i.e. at free or nominal cost to both the students and underprivileged people to find ways to support them, particularly women to become self-reliant. As per rules and regulations of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), the institute started skill-based (360 hours) courses i.e. Tailoring & Dress Making, IT and Computer, Driving & Auto Mechanics, Language, and softer skills. To ensure quality education the institute intends to recruit Full-Time instructors for the Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering Departments from qualified candidates of Bangladeshi nationals.

Job Responsibilities
To identify the inner potentials of students, and nurture their talents by creating an enabling environment for their development and growth.
To ensure high-quality skills training as per the approved syllabus and prepare lesson and session plans for effective training following competency standards and curricula.
To provide necessary support to the institute for mobilizing a targeted number of trainees
To support and maintain all electronic and hardcopy documents (i.e. Admission Register, Attendance Register, Student Diary, Students’ Personal Files, Lesson Plans, Lecture Sheets, Progress Reports, Tabulation etc.) relevant to the job.
To ensure at least 90% of students’ attendance through the attractive, enjoyable, and participatory class.
To give special attention to persons with disabilities (Pwds) and students from other disadvantaged groups and ensure support to achieve expected learning outcomes.
To ensure implementation of competency-based training and assessment.
To support the implementation of RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) assessment.
To conduct ICT-aided skills training through developing and collecting of required materials.
To ensure Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Compliance are well understood and adhered to. All Students Are Properly using Occupation Specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at training labs/workshops.
To maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment in workshop and institute premises.
To ensure that workshop equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies are properly recorded, maintained, and stored.
To participate in the Performance Management Process, proactively identify gaps and potentials, and contribute to staff development activities.
To ensure maintaining the Trainee Tracking System, Program database, and timely reporting.
To ensure formative and summative assessment of the students & check the assessment sheet 
To identify low-achievers and give proper attention necessary to help them reach the required competency standard.
To maintain discipline within classroom and school premises and take necessary action.
To review and develop curricula and materials.
To support the preparation of the budget for the institute and ensure its effective and efficient implementation.
To ensure effective and efficient usage of teaching and training materials and to keep proper records
To ensure proper management and record keeping of wastages, by-products, and finished products.
To carry out any other relevant tasks assigned by the authority as and when necessary.
To arrange guardian meetings, community meetings, and other social network activities.

Educational Requirements: Minimum Diploma in Engineering in the relevant subject.


Experience Requirements: At least 3 years


Additional Requirements
Relevant professional experience would be an added advantage.
CBT&A certification would be an added advantage.
Good command of communication skills in both Bangla and English.
Self-motivated, adaptable, team player and passion for social development works.
The age limit for the applicant is 40 years. Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications.


Job Location: South Surma, Sylhet (14 km from Sylhet City towards Fenchuganj). Housing facilities will be provided at the institute.


Salary: As per Institute Policy.
